He was born June 22, 1923, in Berrien Springs, MI, to Cecelia Ness Higbee and Adelbert Lyle Higbee. He served in the U.S. Army Amphibious Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He then worked for 45 years for the Detroit Edison Company. He is survived by children Robert L. Higbee II, Daniel J. Higbee, Timothy K. Higbee, Jon K. Higbee, Nancy E. Perkins and Susan M. Londos, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sister Margaret Brown, of Boise, ID, and brother Warren Higbee, of Chesterfield Township, MI. Services will be private iat St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Baltimore, MI. [Loudoun Funeral Chapel]Gary G. Lewis, 64, of Leesburg, VA, died on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. He departed this life peacefully at his home accompanied by his loving wife and best friend of 24 years, Joan. He was born in Washington, DC on June 5, 1952 as the oldest son of the late John H. Lewis and Audrey Green. He was a resident of Loudoun County for over twenty years. Gary leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Joan A. Lewis, a daughter, LaTonya R. White (Ralph), two sons Antonio R. Smith, and Gary G. Lewis, Jr.; four brothers Clinton D. Courtney (Teressa), Carl D. Courtney (Debra), Keith D. Courtney (Joanne), and JeJuan Courtney (Vicki); four sisters Joyce A. Courtney, Sandra D. Taylor (Jesse), Karen A. Courtney, and Cheryl D. Jackson.
