Mobrice, age 70 years, of Holts Summit, Mo., passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at Villa Marie Nursing Center after a year long battle with kidney and ureter cancer surrounded by family and his beloved wife Judy.He was born July 18, 1946 in Providence, Rhode Island the son of Joseph D. and Mathilda (Moreau) Mobrice. He was married on September 28, 1991 in Rocheport, Mo. to Judith L. Patterson. They celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary in September, 2016 with a return visit to the winery at Rocheport where the wedding was held.Dennis was a 1964 graduate of LaSalle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island and graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas in 1970 with a degree in journalism.He studied further at the University of Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia and then worked as a general assignment reporter for the Jefferson City News-Tribune in the early 1970s. Saturday, June 10, 2017Ottilo Frances Krause Buchholtz, 93, of Gonzales, was born April 28, 1924 in Gonzales to Otto Krause and Helena Gertrude DeJardo Krause. Frances married Herman Fred “BeBe” Buchholtz on August 13, 1943 in Gonzales. She was a member of the Gonzales First Lutheran Church and had served as vice-president of the Travis State School.Frances grew up in Gonzales and frequently moved with her family wherever her father could find work as a share cropper. Hardships flourished in those early days of her youth, the great depression weighed heavily on the backs of the entire nation, farmers had to work extra hard to scratch out a living as waves of dust choked their crops. Certainly, these were trying times, but for Frances these were times that built character, unwavering determination and a tremendous appreciation for family. Frances worked for the Gonzales Cotton Mill until it closed down and then she traveled every work day to New Braunfels where she worked at the New Braunfels Cotton Mill. Saturday, June 10, 2017James is survived by his wife, Vicki Hovre of Ettrick; two sons, Timothy (fiancée, Darla Tyznik) Hovre of Marshfield and John Hovre of Ettrick; a son-in-law, Randy (Linda) Holthaus of Bangor; three stepchildren, Kevin and Jason Kittleson both of Caledonia, Minn. and Karmen (Paul) Haugland of Spring Grove, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Megan Hovre, Ross (fiancée, Kayla Leis) Holtaus, Reed Holthaus, Rachel (fiance,`Ryan Allen) Holthaus, Ranae (Tyler) Herman, Jessica (Matt) Hesse, Erik Haugland, Kristin (Shane) O’Brien, Laura Kittleson and John Kittleson; and five great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents and first wife, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Holthaus; and a son, James E. Hovre.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, in the French Creek Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Pastor Anna Sorenson will officiate.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 12, in the French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
Saturday, April 08, 2017Following graduation, he attended a community college in South Dakota and then graduated from Iowa State University in 1984 with a degree in aeronautical engineering.Steve Married Micayla Holthe on Oct. 19, 1985, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars. The couple lived in Wichita, Kansas before moving to Whitewater, Kansas, where they resided for 25 years.
