She was the daughter of the late Elbert Murphy and Selma Owen Murphy and was married to the late Ryland Otie Clark Sr.She was a member of Catawba Baptist Church.She was also a retired Meadville Elementary School bus driver and cafeteria employee for over 30 years with the Halifax County School System.She is survived by two sons, Ryland Otie Clark Jr. and wife Nancie, of Nathalie and Fred Scott Clark and wife Beverly of Nathalie; one daughter, Dianne Clark Garrett, of Nathalie; seven grandchildren, Ryland Otie Clark III of Nathalie, David Newton Clark and wife Samantha of Nathalie, Stephanie Ann Clark of Nathalie, Billy Joe Garrett and wife Kerrie of Keysville, Cullen Carl Clark of Nathalie, Sam Owen Clark of Nathalie and Isaac Scott Clark of Nathalie; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Garrett and Anna Kate Clark; one step granddaughter, Shavonne Garrett; three step-great grandchildren, Dylan Eanes, Si’ena Garrett and Bruce Williams.She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Harris and Faye Francis, and two brothers, Jake Murphy and Roland Murphy.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Catawba Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce was a 54 year member of the Hempfield Township Municipal Authority, served on the Board of Directors of the Greenville Public Library, had been a Boy Scout Leader with Troop #54 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and he very much enjoyed woodworking. On September 29, 1945 he married the former, Margaret E. Floyd, she passed away on July 13, 1995, he then married the former, Frances L. Callahan on September 20, 1996, she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Ann Mathieson and her husband, Scott of Aurora, New York and Janet Michaelsen and her husband, Christian of Annandale, Virginia; two sons, Paul B. Wackenhut and his wife, Martha, of Blackfoot, Idaho and Norman C. Wackenhut and his wife, Socorro of South Lake Tahoe, California; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife and a brother, Norman H. The party begins promptly at 2 p.m. Cookies and doughnuts, with cider or lemonade will follow.Each child will receive a bag of candy to take home.Donations for the party can be brought the day of the party or given to auxiliary members. Beverly F. Giglio, 81Beverly Ann (Finneran) Giglio, of Danbury, a former Westport resident, died Sept. 3. She was 81. Beverly Gigio: Staples graduate. Contributed photoShe was born in Meadville, Pa. As her father was in the military, they moved often, and then settled in Connecticut, where she graduated from Staples High School in Westport in 1954. She married Philip Giglio, her high school sweetheart, and the couple welcomed five children into their home. Her family remembers her as a strong and loving mother and grandmother whose strength was beyond reason. She had a young, beautiful spirit and was kind and considerate, always offering a helping hand. She was a shining example of grace and faith despite circumstances at times that were not for the faint of heart. She loved Broadway musicals and was known to sing them quite often with her children and grandchildren as they cleaned. She was an avid fan of both UCONN men and women basketball teams and was a passionate New York Yankees fan as well-although her favorite teams were the ones her grandchildren were on. Edinboro to earn his elementary teaching credential. That was the year he began dating the love of his life, Marilyn Minnis. They were married Aug. 7, 1953 in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Hutch and Marilyn moved their family to southern California in 1960 so Hutch could take a job with the Garden Grove School District, where he taught for twenty years. He worked a second job in park security at Disneyland and told many interesting stories about his time there. After retirement Hutch and Marilyn took off in their pick-up with fifth-wheel attached, traveling across the country visiting family and friends. They lived at times in Oregon, Texas, New Mexico, California, and Missouri, until finally settling in Sublimity. For several years Hutch and Marilyn were avid square dancers. Hutch enjoyed collecting stamps, assembling puzzles, reading westerns and Sudoku. When someone asked Marilyn why she first dated Hutch her answer was “because he’s so funny”. Hutch was known for his sense of humor and positive outlook on life, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.James (Jim) LorenzenNovember 3, 1932 — June 9, 2016James Alan Lorenzen of Silverton passed away June 9 at the age of 83. He had been in declining health in recent months. Jim was born Nov. 3, 1932 to Ted and Hazel Lorenzen in Silverton. He grew up on the family farm in the Scotts Mills area. Jim attended Silverton schools and went to Silverton High School. He spent his working years as a commercial truck driver. Jim had many friends and always ran into someone he knew wherever he went. He recently lost his wife Beverly Lorenzen on May 17, 2016 and son Michael Robert Finley Lorenzen on May 20, 2016. Jim is survived by sons Gary (Sue) Lorenzen, Mike (Beth) Myers and daughter Karla (Greg) Bufka, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.A Memorial service will be held Friday, June 24 at 3 p.m. at Emmanuel Bible Church, 8512 Sunnyview Road NE Salem.
