Energy, based out of Topeka, Kansas, but he traveled the country working with clients. Before his career with Westar, he had worked with Missouri Power and Light (while living in Jefferson City and Moberly), Associated Electric (while living in Springfield), and Cargill (while living in Madison, Wisconsin and Minneapolis, Minnesota). Stan was a man of faith who attended church throughout his life and was a faithful supporter of Alabaster Ministries. Those around him were a witness to his constant nurturing love and faith.Stan had a deep love for his family and always cherished time with them. He was a very private and selfless person, but always took the time to get to know someone the best he could. He loved supporting his granddaughters by attending their softball games or dance recitals. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling, especially to warm places to lounge on a beach or to watch college football bowl games. Though he loved traveling and seeing all the different cities, Stan enjoyed being in the outdoors; hunting, fishing or golfing. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on the Mizzou Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals. His sweet and simple demeanor that won the hearts of many as well as his unwavering faith in God will never be forgotten.Survivors include: one son, Aaron Newton (wife Lori) of Jefferson City, MO.; one daughter, Courtney Yake of Springfield, MO.; three granddaughters, Dakota Newton, Megan Newton, and Mia Yake; his parents, Gene and Maggie Newton of Jefferson City, MO.; one brother, Scott Newton of Jefferson City, MO.; one sister, Kathy Volkerding (husband Bob) of Jefferson City, MO.; his niece, Leslie Chiles (husband Dave); and three nephews, Brian Bloomer (wife Susan), Shannon Newton (wife Bree), and Kaleb Newton.Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017.Funeral services will be conducted...

Ruth was born Ruth V. Kirby in Armstrong, Missouri in 1926, the oldest of seven children. In 1947, she married Stanley Fridley and the couple made their home in the Moberly and Huntsville areas while raising their five children. In the late 1960’s they moved to Warrenton where Mr. Fridley was employed by the Norfolk and Western Railroad, and then to Union where he worked in real estate.After she raised her children, Ruth went to college. In 1972, Ruth received an associate arts degree at East Central Junior College in Union, and in 1984 she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, where she continued to live for 25 years after her husband’s death.Ruth loved music and sang in her church choir in nearly every place she made her home. She was especially active at the Zion United Church of Christ, Union, and later at Central United Church of Christ in Jefferson City. In her later years she taught at public schools in the Jefferson City area, performed in community theatre, and dabbled in the arts. She was proud of her “Master Toastmaster” award, which she received after being an active member of Toastmasters International for 25 years. Ruth was an excellent swimmer, and she especially loved to go dancing.Ruth is survived by her five children: Janice Huque...

Mr. Gary William Ronimous, age 69 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at home surrounded by his family.Gary was born November 21, 1946 in Moberly, Mo. the son of Clarence William and Elsie Jean (Perkins) Ronimous. He was married on May 12, 1969 in Hannibal, Mo. to Diane Pflum, who he had dated since high school. While in Hannibal, Gary was active in Boy Scouting earning the prestigious Eagle Scout Award in 1962. As an adult he was active in all scouting, as a leader in Cub Scouts, Webelos and Boy Scouts. He also was the Missouri State Newspaper Carrier in 1960.A 1964 graduate of Hannibal High School and a 1966 graduate of Hannibal LaGrange University with a Associate of Commerce Degree. He graduated from Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, Mo. in 1968 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration. He later graduated from the Southwestern School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.Gary served as a Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict on the U.S.S. Meyerkord. Gary made three “WestPac” deployments, to Vietnam. He was discharged in Februar...
