He was 74years old.Gus was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Astoria, Ore., to Arthur and Estella (Jones)Goodell, and was a proud memberof the Chinook Indian Nation. He wasraised in Altoona, Wash., and attendedelementary school in Daliah. He laterattended middle school in Rosburg.Gus loved the water and spent much of his childhood gillnet fishing and boating on the Columbia River.Gus enjoyed hunting, playing shuffleboard, cribbage andwatching football. He was a jokester who loved to playpranks on his family and friends and could always becounted on for a good laugh.Gus was preceded in death by five siblings, George,Melvin, Judy, Donald and Richard.He is survived by two children, Calvin and AngelaGoodell, both of Longview; two grandchildren, TysanFuqua of Longview and Callie Goodell of Pullman; threesiblings, Arthur Goodell (Dorothy) of Kelso, and KennyGoodell and Nancy Fluhrer (Jim), both of Warrenton.A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday atVista Park in Skamokawa, Wash.Please offer your condolences at www.tdn.com/obits...
