Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 2 from 4 to 7 PM at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. Tuesday, April 18, 2017Editor's note: the following obituary was submitted by Roswell Funeral Home.Jacob David Fletcher, 22, passed away on April 1st, 2017. He attended school in Alpharetta, Georgia, graduating from Fulton Science Academy in 2013. After high school graduation, he was attending Georgia Perimeter College in Dunwoody in preparation for a career in accounting. Jake also enjoyed working at Publix. Jake leaves his loving parents, Michael and Leslie Fletcher; sister, Rachel; grandparents, Nancy Fletcher, Jack and Karen Wilson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, but will always remain in their hearts. Jake was unique in his quiet ability to touch people's lives with his love, kindness, and compassion. He had the loving heart of a child and a gentle old soul. Jake left us too soon and will never be forgotten.A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, April 8 at Cliff Valley School, 2426 Clairmont Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30309. Monday, February 06, 2017His body was escorted from the Office of the Medical Examiner in Albuquerque back to his home in Lovington. Along the corner of Main Street and Pine Lodge Road in Roswell, members of the community came together with tears in their eyes and hands over their hearts to remember a man who devoted himself to a life of public service.“You know, he was just a really wonderful, caring person that always was doing what was right for the people of his county and for New Mexico,” said Jean Snyder, who knew Ackerman.Ackerman had been with the sheriff’s office for 15 years. He quickly worked his way up the ranks of law enforcement and was elected sheriff in 2014. Many who gathered to remember him say he will never be forgotten.“He took the time for everybody. He loved his family, his community and he just did so much for the people in Lea County,” Rosie Ginanni said. “I want to tell him thank you, thank you from my heart, and I'm sure I speak for a lot of people.”The people of Roswell offered their condolences to the family and county Ackerman leaves behind.“All of our love and support go to Lea County and to his family, to the state of New Mexico – the way...
