"Bumpa" Pierce, Jr., 90, longtime resident of both Auburn and Paxton, passed away Tuesday, June 20th, 2017 at Parsons Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester.Waldo was born in Grafton, son of the late Waldo N. Sr. and Hazel Pierce. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He worked for Norton Company of Worcester as a pipefitter for 27 years. He served as a Private First Class in the US Army Infantry during World War II, working in Japan for a short time. He was an avid golfer and family man. He loved to travel to Maine, Hawaii, and California. Waldo was an active member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Auburn and was a member of their men’s group for many years. Waldo was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Barbara M. Pierce, this past November. He is survived by two daughters, Joann L. Monks and her husband, Darren Monks of Auburn, and Donna M. Godfrey of Lunenburg; two granddaughters, Heather L. and Jessica L. Monks both of Auburn; a great grandson, Hayden J. Monks of Auburn; and is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tuesday, April 18, 2017Visual Arts and Southern Methodist University, where he earned a B.F.A. in theater and dance. He moved to New York, where he played Romeo in Joseph Papp's Shakespeare on Broadway, directed by Estelle Parsons. He performed in the Broadway company of Amadeus, directed by Peter Hall, playing the title role several times. He worked off-Broadway in several shows at the Public Theater and at many regional theaters across the country, including Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage, San Diego's Old Globe Theatre and Houston's Alley Theatre. Moreno returned to Dallas after the accident that cost him the use of his legs. He continued to act, performing at Dallas Theater Center, Shakespeare Dallas, WaterTower Theatre, Theatre Three and Wingspan Theatre Company while taking on film roles. He enrolled in SMU's Meadows School of the Arts Graduate Studies program and earned an M.F.A. in directing in 2001. He was frequently honored with Best Director awards and taught classes and taught workshops at many colleges, universities and high schools. Saturday, April 08, 2017She inspired a generation of new physicians to be and do more by following her example of excellence and integrity.”Sandra was born Aug. 18, 1953, in Parsons, and growing up there, she never forgot her small town roots or Christian values. She was a dutiful daughter and awesome sister who never stopped looking out for her family; as an aunt, she thought and cared for her nephews and niece as if they were her own. Sandra and her husband, Tom, loved their two bichon dogs, Minnie and Mojo, and traveled often. One of her most favorite trips was to the Holy Land, organized by Church of the Resurrection and led by pastor Adam Hamilton.For those who knew her, Sandra was compassionate and loving and always went out of her way to make the downhearted smile and feel included. Her energy and enthusiasm touched many as she loved to laugh and encouraged others to follow their dreams. Sandra’s legacy simply stated was to treat others as you would want to be treated. We were blessed to have known her, and she will be missed by many, especially her family who are comforted by their faith in knowing Sandra is now home at peace and with our Lord, Jesus Christ.The memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Wesley Chapel at Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe, Leawood, with a reception immediately following.The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Sandra’s memory to the KC CARE Clinic, attention Sheridan Wood, CEO, 3515 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111.

Her remains will be taken to Parsons, Kan., to be buried with her husband.Linda attended schools at Boise, Glenns Ferry and Greenleaf in Idaho, and Clarksville, Tenn. She majored in criminal justice at Linn-Benton Community College at Corvallis, Ore., and earned an associate degree from Lewis-Clark State College. She enjoyed reading and reviewed books for several companies.Linda is survived by her father, David and Linda Tuning of Medford, Ore.; mother Phyllis Tuning of Lewiston; sisters Elisa (and Philip) Rodgers of Denver, Colo., and Sandra Tuning of Lewiston; daughters Tina and Marcello Cardoso of Salt Lake City and Melinda Rustemeyer of Lewiston; son David (and Kristi) Shorb of Lewiston; and 11 grandchildren.
