Saturday, June 10, 2017Johnny Eugene Holloway, 68, of Soddy Daisy/Dunlap, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in a local hospital, surrounded by family. He was retired from Hamilton County Juvenile Court, and he served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Rae Holloway, parents, James “Buck” and Verena Holloway; brothers, Jim, Doyle, and infant brother, Freddie.Survivors include his daughters, Michelle Zaragosa (David), Heidi Hickman (Rex); brother, Mickey Holloway; sister, Brenda Stuart (Tim), grandchildren, Tyler, Shian (Justin), Shealyn, David; and great-grandson, Justice. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Ronnie Smith officiating. Tuesday, April 18, 2017Vaughna Ray James, 73, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away on April 16, 2017. She was of the Baptist Faith. Vaughna worked at Life Care Of Red Bank for over 15 years. She loved the Lord, her family and really enjoyed traveling.She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Amos Collake; two daughters, Gladys and Ann Marie and a sister Alline Dungan.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Stanley Boydston; two granddaughters, Vaughna Jane Boyd and Crystal Rachelle Rowan; six great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters.Services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. Pauline was born in Harriman, Tn., on June 11, 1922, to the late George and Nellie (Cox) Payne. She retired from Dupont after more than 30 years. She was a member of Jubilee Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband, Worley E. Monday, December 05, 2016Henrietta Bakowski Phillips “Aunt Hank”, 89, former longtime resident of Soddy Daisy, died on Thursday, December 1, 2016.She worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for six years, was a cashier at Kroger’s and worked at the Oster Plant in Dayton for many years. Family was of the upmost importance to her and she was a true inspiration to all who knew her. Her courage and endurance during life was of great value to everyone. Other than her dear, beloved late husband, Luther “Bud” Phillips and her constant companion Sugar Dog, she was closest to Lisa DeBlois Barnes, who she considered her daughter. Lisa reflects that Aunt Hank was a continual influence and a true blessing to the person she is today. She taught Lisa to embrace her own strengths as she was very strong, loyal and kind person.
