Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555.Ann Marie Bomar, 88 year old Grand Lake resident passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at her home. She was born on October 28, 1928 in Mendon, Massachusetts to Roosevelt and Greta (Anderson) Mattson. Ann attended and graduated from Mendon Schools, she later attended nursing school and became a registered nurse. On August 6, 1960 she married Elmer E. Bomar, he preceded her in death in 1986. Ann worked as a RN at the Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa a few years, before her and Elmer moved to Grand Lake in 1963 and opened Bomar Marina (now Arrowhead South). They ran the Marina until Elmer’s death in 1986. Ann worked at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita as a RN until her retirement. Ann was very involved in the Cleora Baptist Church, where she sung in the choir, a member of the WMU, helped with vacation bible school, entertained with her accordion and served as church treasurer. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.Those preceding her in death were her parents and husband.The family includes: her children, Karen Chism and husband Rick, David Bomar and wife Carla all of Afton(Grand Lake); one brother, Richard Mattson and wife Vivian of Mendon, Massac...

Irish step-dancing. The one-mile parade will begin at 1 p.m. at Commerce Avenue and Morris Avenue, proceeding east on Morris Avenue to Union Center and south onto Stuyvesant Avenue, ending at Roosevelt Avenue.The parade will also feature a Kids Zone presented by the Union Special Improvement District. The Kids Zone will feature inflatable rides, walk-around entertainers and activities for the whole family.
