Monday, June 19, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia. A private family burial will be held at a later date.He was born on Sept. 25, 1923 in Hunnewell to Roy Edward and Minnetta (Megaffin) Sorrell, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Hunnewell High School.In 1941, in Monroe City, he married Donna McGlothlin. Children are Linda Koch and husband Dennis of Elmwood, Kan., Garry Sorrell and wife Betty of Sedalia, and Debra Phillips of Lincoln, Neb.In 1968, in Sedalia, he married Wanda Lewis, who resides of the home. Children are Linda Williams and husband Doug of Lebanon, Michael Barber of Lebanon, Donna Hendrickson of Spearman, Texas, Lori McCullough and husband David of Sedalia, David Sorrell and wife Deann of Columbia and Scott Sorrell and wife Missy of Rolla.Al lived many years in Monroe City where he worked at a hotel before he went to work for the Henderson Produce Company where he became plant manager.While working at Henderson’s, Al was drafted into the Army. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was trained as a surgical technician and served in a medical unit for the 192nd Ordnance Battalion.
