Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.Jack was born July 14, 1927 in Salina, Kansas to Francis and Nana Marguerite (Stephens) King, and passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Drummond.Jack served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Navy, serving in the Navy during WWII from 1945 to 1946, and then during the Korean War he served with the Army from 1951 to 1953. Before going into the Army, he married Leona Baugher on November 27, 1950 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Following his military service, he and Kenneth Baugher formed Baugher and King Drilling and ran it from 1953 until 1966. He farmed from 1966 until 1988. He worked in the oilfield in the Enid area until he retired in 2002. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending his grandkids ballgames, fishing, and building things in his shop using his lathe, creating working miniature models of steam engines and Ft. Worth Cable Tool rigs. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Saturday, June 10, 2017Court documents say Collier was left in the road after being hit by a vehicle driven by a former investigator for the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office on North Salina Street. It happened around 1:30 a.m. early Tuesday morning. Nearby performers were among the first to render aid to Collier before he was rushed to the hospital. Two days after the accident, Collier was taken off life support and died from his injuries. As a result of the crash, former investigator and part time police officer Peter Rauch was arrested and taken into custody. He was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and posted bail of $50,000. Rauch was fired from both positions with the the District Attonrey's Office and with the Liverpool Police Department. The investigation will remain ongoing as police continue to gather more evidence on the incident. For more information regarding the upcoming funeral for Collier click here. At North Salina and Bear streets he was hit by a car that did not stop. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He died Thursday after being taken off life support.Peter J. Rauch, 37, of Liverpool, has been charged in the hit-and-run.Rauch, an Onondaga County District Attorney's Office investigator, is accused of hitting Collier with his county-issued car and then fleeing. He was fired after the crash. Rauch also worked part-time as an officer for the Liverpool Police Department and was later fired.He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains free on $50,000 bail.
