Downie, 59, of Bowling Green, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, after a battle with Huntington’s Disease.Don was born Nov. 2, 1957, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Carolyn (Swanson) Downie. He married Paula Roth on Aug. 25, 1979, at BGSU’s Prout Chapel, and she survives in Bowling Green.Also surviving are his children, Cassandra (Adam) Saunders of Franklin, Ohio, and Thomas (Katie) Downie of Bowling Green; sisters, Rebecca Bartel of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Susan Carr of Panesville, Ohio, Diane Olekshuk of Conneaut, Ohio; brothers, Joseph Downie II of Mentor on the Lake, Ohio, and David (Jodee) Downie of Geneva, Ohio; grandchildren, Amelia and Oliver Saunders and Calvin Downie.He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Sally Condra, Barbara and Katrina Downie.Don graduated from Ashtabula High School in ’76 and BGSU with a degree in information technology. She was predeceased by beloved husband, James Edwin Ludlum; son, James Scott Ludlum; parents, Oscar Tillman Breeden, Sr. and Allen Millican Breeden; and brother, Oscar Tillman Breeden, Jr. Born in Keener, Alabama on Sunday, September 10, 1933, Peggy was raised in Glencoe and attended Jacksonville State University and Howard College, now Samford University in Birmingham. Married to the love of her life, Jim, in 1956, they were separated by his death in Roanoke, Virginia in 2010. Peggy Jane will be lovingly remembered for her treasured holiday gatherings and as a consummate daughter, wife, mother and friend. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Crestwood Funeral Home at 2209 East Broad Street in Gadsden, Alabama, 256-492-5544. Monday, February 27, 2017Cathedral Preparatory School in Erie and earned his bachelor’s degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, his master’s degree from Gannon University and his Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University. On May 13, 1989, he married Brenda Kay Green. In 1989 Mark began his teaching career at Thiel College where he was an English professor for the past 27 years. He was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Greenville and was involved in the Cursillo movement of the Erie Diocese. Mark’s great loves were his family, his faith, teaching, especially his favorite course, History of the Western Humanities and Baltimore Orioles baseball. In 2014, after recovering from his first round of cancer treatments and in gratitude for his recovery, he made a sabbatical pilgrimage to Spain to walk five hundred miles on the Camino de Santiago, or the Way of Saint James. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Brenda Kay DelMaramo of Perry Township, Pennsylvania; his four children, Daniel J. DelMaramo of Carnegie, Pennsylvania, Nathan C. DelMaramo, Sarah R. DelMaramo and Noah J. DelMaramo all at home; his mother, Constance L. DelMaramo of Erie; his sister, Beth L.
