(Tom) Lynch of Midlothian, VA; Step Daughter, Rachel A. (Jay) Fetterman of Sykesville, MD; and two nephews, Robert Mitteer and Frank Huff that he helped raise. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife of 36 years, Janet B. Hart; two sisters, Doris Mitteer and Alice Huff. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 119 Carpenter Street, Dushore, with Pastor Jacob C. Lund officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Forksville. Louise Powell and Lewis David Morris and later raised by Kenneth and the late Princess Simpson of Charlottesville. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, James W. Stone, M.D. of Midlothian; sons, James Lucas Stone (Becca) of West Medford, Mass. and Jacob Hunter Stone of Richmond; daughters, Jordan Louise Pickering (Dan) of St. Paul, Minn. and Keller Stone Johnson (Andrew) of Lynchburg, Va.; her six grandchildren, Caleb, Cole and Caroline Johnson of Lynchburg, Sam and Annie Stone of West Medford, Mass., and Paige Pickering of St. Paul, Minn.; and her cousin, Audrey Thompson of Charlottesville. She was a 1974 graduate of Lane High School in Charlottesville and received her RN degree from Piedmont Community College in 1982 before moving to Richmond. She left nursing to become a full time mom in 1988 and served many roles including room mother, Bible study leader, mission friend's teacher, mission project leader and exchange student host mom. She was a long time member of Huguenot Road Baptist Church. Debbie had a vibrant personality, a tremendous gift for hospitality, was an avid bridge and tennis player and loved to travel. Her most cherished role was "Gi" to her ever increasing number of grandchildren. She was widely loved, left us too soon and will be greatly missed.
