Saturday, June 10, 2017LORDSTOWN, Ohio – Funeral services celebrating the life of William “Zay” Zayas Sr. will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, June 12 at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel. William passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in Omni Manor Care Center at the age of 58. He was born November 21, 1958 in Youngstown the son of Angel Luis, Sr. and Juanita (Rivera) Zayas. He worked in the shipping and receiving department of Brentwood Manufacturing until his retirement in September of 2016. William attended Grace Fellowship Church in Niles. William enjoyed cars. He loved to work on them as well as attend car shows and swap meets. William leaves his mother, Juanita of Lordstown; two children, Jen Zayas of Niles and William Zayas, Jr. of Campbell; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Dylan and Dominic and his siblings, Margaret (William) Alvarez of Warren, Jose (Lori) Zayas of North Jackson, Lydia Morales of Florida, Esther Zayas of Puerto Rico and Juan Zayas of Lordstown. Saturday, April 08, 2017William Wallace Pinch was born in Hornell, NY on August 15th, 1940 and passed away in Tucson, AZ on April 1st, 2017 at the age of 76. He was a world renowned mineralogist, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by wife Jacquelyn, daughter Megan, son Michael(Karina), and granddaughter Elise. Pinch was a larger than life collector of many of the earth’s rarities including not only minerals but also gems, fossils, and shells, botanicals and rare books. He was a world renowned expert discovering new species and assisting with the description of heretofore unknown and rare minerals, a generous lecturer and teacher, a co-founder of the Rochester Mineralogical Symposium, and a prolific contributor to mineralogical literature. He was admired and respected by many professors, many curators worldwide, scores of internationally renowned collectors, and loved by hundreds of children who have received tours and starter mineral collections from him. He was self taught in his knowledge of minerals. His contributions to his field were so notable that a biannual medal was created in his honor - the “Pinch Medal” recognizing excellence...

(Jennifer) Hasseman of Mineral City; a daughter, Teresa Morgan of Carrollton; a brother, John L. (Betty) Stubbins of Urichsville; a sister, Judy Edmonds of Amsterdam; six grandchildren, Damean ,Dezire and Doniven Hasseman, Hunter and Chantz Morgan, Kylee Haas and Kaitlyn Tucker ; and six nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death was her father and a daughter, Cathy Sue Hasseman.Graveside service will be held April 6 at 3:30 p.m. in Baxter’s Ridge Cemetery.Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Monday, March 27, 2017Together Again? MINERAL RIDGE ? Frances K. (Cronkshaw) Lingo, 81, passed away on Saturday afternoon, March 25, 2017, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. Frances was born Dec. 17, 1935, in South Kingston, R.I., a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Murney) Cronkshaw. She was a 1953 graduate of South Kingston High School and continued her education at Johnson and Wales Business College, graduating with honors in the secretarial program in Providence, R.I. She found employment at the University of Rhode Island working as the dean?s secretary. She met her husband, James Brawdy Lingo Sr., while he was on the U.S. Navy Base in Rhode Island and got married July 31, 1955, and started their family together. After she got married, they moved to the Mineral Ridge area with her family and was a proud homemaker, taking care of her two children, Cynthia and James Lingo Jr. She was a member of the Happy Chatter Club.
