Monday, March 27, 2017Wilson Vo. Tech School, and Richmond Professional Institute (VCU). He was employed by General Electric Co. / G.E. Fanuc and retired after 37 years of service. His career with GE covered locations in Waynesboro, Richmond, and Charlottesville. Charlie followed his favorite sports teams which included the Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals, UVA and VCU. His favorite car music was vintage Rock, Motown/R&B. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Carolyn Jean (Weaver) Temple of Crozet. They shared a blessed union of 51 years together. In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Alison A. (Temple) Moore and husband, "Zeke" Michael Moore of Fredericksburg; son, Michael R. Temple and girlfriend, Sharon Lawler of Charlottesville; grandson, Zach Moore and granddaughter, Hannah Moore, both of Fredericksburg; step-sister, Gail (Bartley) Ferguson and step-brother, Richard Bartley of Staunton, and a number of cousins. Not to be forgotten, loyal friend, Jax. Charlie believed his greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Frances (Graham) Bartley Temple; step-brother, Graham Bartley; and sister-in-law, Janet Weaver. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Dale Seley. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society, or the SPCA.
