Monday, June 19, 2017Putnam Valley man who died Friday after crashing his motorcycle in Mahopac.Calling hours for Raphael Teixeira, a 19-year-old Mahopac High School graduate, will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. at Yorktown Funeral Home, 945 E. Main St. in Yorktown.Teixeira died after crashing into a tractor-trailer on Route 6 outside Mahopac Railroad Tie on Friday afternoon, Carmel police said.A funeral Mass is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1377 E. Main St. in Shrub Oak. Burial will follow at Kensico Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Ave., in Valhalla.Teixeira graduated from Mahopac High School in 2016, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Dennis Creedon said."It is indeed tragic that we lost a promising young man in this accident," Creedon said. "Raphael was a good student who was loved by his peers. We grieve with his family and will keep them in our prayers."A GoFundMe page has been created to help pay for Teixeira's funeral and his car payments. Teixeira worked as an electrician and had a passion for building and repairing cars, according to the GoFundMe page.Police said Teixeira was riding north on Route 6 when he struck a tractor-trailer at 3:48 p.m. Friday. The initial investigation and witness accounts revealed that Teixeira was traveling fast and had been using the shoulder to pass cars that had slowed in traffic, police said.The tractor-trailer had been traveling north and was making a right turn into Mahopac Railroad Tie when Teixeira hit the truck, police said. Tuesday, April 18, 2017Anna Mae Wagner Ryan, 90, of Cuero passed away at home on April 14, 2017. She was born Jan. 23, 1927 in Yorktown, Texas to the late Emil Joseph and Anna Rohan Wagner. Anna married Richard Ryan on June 13, 1953 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cuero and the Altar Society. She loved spending time with her family, gardening and needle work. Anna graduated from Yorktown High School and Santa Rosa School of Nursing in San Antonio. She was a R.N. who worked with Polio patients at Warms Springs, plant nurse at Dupont and for Dr O.E. Hall.She is survived by daughters, Virginia (Wayne) Sparck of Evansville, Indiana and Kathleen Ryan of Houston; sons, Kevin Ryan of Cuero and Gary Ryan of Austin; grandchildren, Erin (Dustin) Sparck of Los Angeles, CA and Sarah, Kate, and Gunnar Ryan of Austin; sisters, Leona Berckenhoff and Doris Boldt of Yorktown; brother, Al (Myrlin) of Yorktown; and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by parents; husband; son, Richard III; sisters, Olga and Beth; brothers, Ed, Vic and Gilbert; and two in...
Monday, February 20, 2017YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A water main break on Route 35 near Clark Funeral Home on Thursday has caused service to be temporarily interrupted, according to the Town of Yorktown. The Water Department staff is currently working on the repair and will restore service as soon as possible, the town said If anyone experiences discolored water and/or air in the pipes run the cold water until it clears, the town said.

Death was unexpected.Stephen was born August 30, 1945, in Iredell County, a son of Claudine Canup Boggs of Kannapolis and the late Edgar G. Boggs Jr. Stephen was employed at the Newport News Shipbuilding, where he was an electrical engineer until his retirement.Stephen was a 1963 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and a 1969 graduate of North Carolina State University, where he received his Bachelor‘s Degree in Engineering. He was a member of the Wolf Pack Club. While at A.L. Brown, he was a member of the A.L. Brown Marching Band.Stephen enjoyed sports and was a coach of girls’ softball and basketball teams.He was an active member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Yorktown, where he was head usher, helped with the Easter Egg Project and went on many mission trips.
