Tuesday, April 18, 2017Tom was the beloved brother of Victoria-Jo (Joseph) Iuteri, Donna (Jack) Buckley, and Frank (Lynne) Johnson; loving uncle to Jennifer (Kevin Bowerman) Iuteri, Lindsay, Shannon and Jamie Buckley, and Monica, Holly and Corinne Johnson. He will never be forgotten.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave., Milford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Monday, March 27, 2017North Side.Seth M. Collier's obituary said that funeral services in celebration of his life will occur at noon Tuesday at the Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home at the corner of Vickery and Buckley roads in North Syracuse.In lieu of flowers, the family asked that contributions be made to a GoFundMe page set up in Collier's memory.Collier was walking home from his job at a Burger King around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. At North Salina and Bear streets he was hit by a car that did not stop. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He died Thursday after being taken off life support.Peter J. Rauch, 37, of Liverpool, has been charged in the hit-and-run.Rauch, an Onondaga County District Attorney's Office investigator, is accused of hitting Collier with his county-issued car and then fleeing. He was fired after the crash. Rauch also worked part-time as an officer for the Liverpool Police Department and was later fired.He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains free on $50,000 bail.

Hindle, age 66, of Andover, Ohio, died Friday, February 17, 2017, at her home.She was born February 21, 1950, in Conneaut, Ohio, a twin daughter of Harry R. and Dorothy G. (Winkle) Buckley.Formerly of Andover, Carol was employed at Kaydee Manufacturing in Orwell, Ohio, and was a homemaker. She attended the First Baptist Church of Andover. Carol loved to paint yard ornaments, doing crafts and knitting afghans.Carol married Edgar G. Hindle on August 24, 1968 and he preceded her in death on October 8, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard E. Buckley. She is survived by her two daughters, Dottie A. (Daniel) Easton of Andover, Ohio and Jennifer R. (Michael) Rozman of Orwell, Ohio; her eight grandchildren, Samantha, Sabrina, Curtis, Nevaeh, Ravinn, Joshua, Mark and Austin; her eleven great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Carolyn L. Grigus of Hiram, Ohio; her sister, Janice M. Swygart of Decatur, Indiana and her two brothers, Larry R. Buckley of Conneaut, Ohio and Gary L. Monday, January 09, 2017Howard County Sheriff’s Department and the family of Deputy Carl Koontz, who was shot and killed on March 20 in Russiaville.News broke in the early morning hours that Koontz and Sgt. Jordan Buckley had been injured in a shootout with 25-year-old Evan Dorsey inside a trailer.At approximately 12:40 a.m., Koontz and Buckley served a search warrant alongside three other officers. After knocking on the front door and announcing their presence, officers forcibly entered the home.Koontz and Buckley found Dorsey in a locked bedroom. While attempting to enter the room, the officers were met with gunfire from Dorsey, who fired at least nine shots, hitting both Koontz and Buckley once.The two deputies returned fire, shooting approximately 16 rounds from their handguns. But Dorsey was hidden behind a furnace and was not struck.The shooting lasted approximately 20 seconds and ended when other officers dragged Koontz outside of the trailer and immediately rendered first aid. Buckley exited the trailer under his own power.Dorsey later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.Koontz, 26, died from a shot to his pelvis that same morning in Indianapolis.His death sent shockwaves of grief through the county and city.
