Abshire, Jr. and his wife, Lacey of Eunice, LA , Breanna Abshire and her fiance’, Taylor Matthews of Crowley, LA; grandchildren, Kylee Abshire, Tay’Lynn Matthews, Karlee Abshire, Kynlee Abshire and Beckett Matthews; siblings, Charles Trahan and his wife, Debra of Crowley, LA, Brenda Romero of Crowley, LA, Daraleen Welch of Crowley, LA, Randall Trahan and his wife, Tamica of Crowley, LA, Greg Bertrand of Crowley, LA, David Trahan and his wife, Roxanne of Milton, LA, Cynthia Trahan and her boyfriend, Wesley LeMaire of Crowley, LA, Scotty Trahan and his wife, Nancy of Crowley, LA and Timothy Trahan of Crowley, LA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary, a resident of Florentine Gardens in Loveland and longtime Clermont County resident, died May 15, 2017 at the age of 92. Lacey, a police chief’s son who as a tenacious federal prosecutor helped drain New Jersey’s fetid swamp of political corruption and who later built a reputation as a stringent judge presiding over celebrated cases, died on April 1 in Naples, Fla. He was 96.His death was confirmed this week by his son John.As an imposing, 6-foot-4 United States attorney for New Jersey, Mr. Lacey smashed the corrupt Democratic machines in Essex and Hudson Counties.He successfully prosecuted Mayors Hugh J. Addonizio of Newark and Thomas J. Whelan of Jersey City; John V.
