A Mount Vernon resident for more than 50 years, former representative to the Virginia House of Delegates Frank Medico died Dec. 30, 2016 at the age of 92.Medico served the 44th district as a Republican for four terms, from 1982 until 1990.He previously worked as assistant director of the U.S. General Accounting Office for two decades before retiring in 1979. In the community, Medico volunteered as co-chair of the Mount Vernon Council of Civic Associations.Medico’s son Fred said an outpouring of praise in Facebook comments showed how much his father meant to his community.“You could feel his heart when he was trying to help you,” said Fred Medico. “He did a lot of that during his life. It’s just the kind of guy he was. ANAL WINCHESTER — Charles Bowman, (devoted father), 84, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, at Altercare in Canal Winchester, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 2, 1932 in Fremont, Mich., to the late Charles and Wava (Craven) Bowman. He graduated from Tri-State (now Trine) University in 1953 with a BSRE (Radio Engineering). Chuck worked at North American Rockwell (now Boeing) nearly all of his career as an electrical engineer, retiring in January 1992.
