Monday, June 26, 2017Stan had a deep love for his family and always cherished time with them. He was a very private and selfless person, but always took the time to get to know someone the best he could. He loved supporting his granddaughters by attending their softball games or dance recitals. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling, especially to warm places to lounge on a beach or to watch college football bowl games. Though he loved traveling and seeing all the different cities, Stan enjoyed being in the outdoors; hunting, fishing or golfing. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on the Mizzou Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals. His sweet and simple demeanor that won the hearts of many as well as his unwavering faith in God will never be forgotten.Survivors include: one son, Aaron Newton (wife Lori) of Jefferson City, MO.; one daughter, Courtney Yake of Springfield, MO.; three granddaughters, Dakota Newton, Megan Newton, and Mia Yake; his parents, Gene and Maggie Newton of Jefferson City, MO.; one brother, Scott Newton of Jefferson City, MO.; one sister, Kathy Volkerding (husband Bob) of Jefferson City, MO.; his niece, Leslie Chiles (husband Dave); and three nephews, Brian Bloomer (wife Susan), Shannon Newton (wife Bree), and Kaleb Newton.Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017.Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Monte Shinkle officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alabaster Ministries, 8514 North Donna Ct., Kansas City, Mo. 64153 Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Linda was a big part of supporting missions at Regency Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to missions work at Regency Baptist Church in Linda’s name.
Monday, June 19, 2017Peka Valley of the Nangarhar Province in Afghanistan, according to the Army. Houck, Sgt. William M. Bays and Cpl. Dillon C. Baldridge were members of the Army's 101st Airborne Division and were supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel.Houck is a 2009 graduate of Perry Hall High School and is survived by his wife, Samantha Houck, and two young children.Earlier this week, Baltimore County officials said Houck's name will be added to a new memorial in Towson that honors county service members who lost their lives in the Middle East since Operation Desert Storm.Baltimore Sun Media Group reporter Margarita Cambest contributed to this article.pwood@baltsun.comtwitter.com/pwoodreporter...
