Gibbs died June 5, 2017, in Port Angeles at the age of 74. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. June 14 at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent. On June 15, there will be a Rosary at 8 a.m. and a Mass at 8:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple St., Sequim, with a reception to follow. He was born April 20, 1943 in Detroit, Mich.Carolyn Marie HempelJanuary 12, 1946 – June 3, 2017Carolyn passed into eternal life with God The Father on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017.She led a full and varied life here on earth. Carolyn was born on January 12th, 1946 in Spokane, Washington as the second of three children to Fred and Lorraine Riese.She spent most of her youth growing up in Richland, Washington during the booming heydays of the Hanford Nuclear Waste Facilities. Though dyslexic, she passed the rigorous testing required to become a stewardess for United Airlines, and was assigned to O’Hare Airport in Chicago, Illinois.She met and married a United Pilot, James Maciejewski in 1967. Barbara is survived by her brother, Bob Harris, of Aqua Dulce, California; her children, Linda (Kevin) Petraborg of Port Angeles, Jeff (Rebecca) Myer, Janice (Barry) Sen, and Verdie (Paul) Wagenaar, all of Lynden; grandchildren Shawn, Bryan, Kirsten, Collin and Cameron; great-granddaughter Allysha and great-great-granddaughter Sophia Grace. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Florence; her sister Florence Burns; son Clell Cooper; and husbands Harold Myer and Richard Burrus. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, in Gillies Funeral Home. Interment will be in Monumenta Cemetery. A very special thank-you to Hospice, Among Friends Adult Family Home and caregivers Cory, Sara, Debra, Tara, Kim and John for taking such good care of Barbara.   Arrangements are entrusted to Gillies Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Lynden.
