"Bumpa" Pierce, Jr., 90, longtime resident of both Auburn and Paxton, passed away Tuesday, June 20th, 2017 at Parsons Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester.Waldo was born in Grafton, son of the late Waldo N. Sr. and Hazel Pierce. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He worked for Norton Company of Worcester as a pipefitter for 27 years. He served as a Private First Class in the US Army Infantry during World War II, working in Japan for a short time. He was an avid golfer and family man. He loved to travel to Maine, Hawaii, and California. Waldo was an active member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Auburn and was a member of their men’s group for many years. Waldo was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Barbara M. Pierce, this past November. He is survived by two daughters, Joann L. Monks and her husband, Darren Monks of Auburn, and Donna M. Godfrey of Lunenburg; two granddaughters, Heather L. and Jessica L. Monks both of Auburn; a great grandson, Hayden J. Monks of Auburn; and is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mendys; a daughter, Carol Plotczyk of Grafton; four grandchildren, Andrew and Jeffrey Plotczyk, Eric and his wife Donna Goodhall and Maura Wolfe and her husband Thomas; a great grandchild, Johnny; and son-in-law, John Goodhall of Berkley She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Goodhall; two brothers, Stanley and Walter Leszczynski and a sister, Helen Rossik.Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Tessie’s family on Tuesday June 20, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 before leaving in procession to Saint Joseph’s Church for her funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
Monday, June 26, 2017Lloyd B.G. Rogers passed away Sunday, June 25,2017 at the age of 80. Lloyd was originally from Grafton, Illinois and moved to Fulton, N.Y. in 1976, where he had a successful career at Owen – Illinois ,Inc. for 35 years. Upon retiring he relocated to Muscle Shoals, Al in 1996 with his wife, Frances of 56 years. He was an active member of Grace Life Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals. He served honorably in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. Lloyd was a loving husband, a devoted son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather, who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. She was a 1943 graduate of Poquoson High School in Poquoson, Va., and was a former manager at the PX at Fort Eustis Army Base in Newport News, Va. She was a member of Providence Methodist Church in Amory, Va.She was the daughter of the late Addison and Jewel Doris Thomas Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert John Sealey Sr., and her daughter, Dianne Keener.Surviving are three grandchildren, Carl (Ute) Massey, of Brunswick, Frederick (Susie) Massey, of Blackshear, and Samuel Head, of Atkinson; six great-grandchildren, Amber Nicole Massey, Brandon Purdom, Bryan Purdom, Abbie Head, Ashley (Michael) Barry, and Joe (Destiny) Prince; two great-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Prince and Evelyn Barry; her son-in-law, Roger Keener, of Blackshear; a special friend, David E.
