Monday, February 06, 2017She and Bud have many grandchildren.For the last nine years, Stanley worked for the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.She was a member of the Henninger House Task Force and an integral member of the Lovell Park Committee.Chuck Germana, former Parma City Council President and Cuyahoga County Councilman, first met Stanley when she was working at Western Reserve Engineering and Surveying."I was a scout master," Germana said, "and I took a bunch of scouts to meet Vickie to get an idea of what a surveyor does. She became a merit badge counselor for the scouts in engineering, architecture, drafting and surveying to become Eagle Scouts. The kids loved her."Mayor Tim DeGeeter worked with Vickie during his days on city council."Vickie will be missed by many," DeGeeter said. "She was a strong person and was fun to be around."I had the opportunity to work closely with her when I was a city councilman and when she served as president of Parma Area Fine Arts Council on the Lovell Park Project in 2002-2003. She was a dedicated member of the committee."The capstone of the project was having Apollo 8 and 13 Astronaut Jim Lovell attend the dedication ceremony," DeGeeter said. "Despite the weather not cooperating, it was a great day for the city."Vickie and her husband Bud have done so much for our city, whether through the Chamber or other groups and events. She will be missed," DeGeeter said.Family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Schuster-Straker-O'Connor Funeral Home, 5904 Ridge Road, Parma.
Monday, November 28, 2016He was born on April 29, 1954 in Waukegan. He married the love of his life, Jeannette M. Riley on May 20, 1979 in Waukegan. Pete was a US Navy Veteran, and worked at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago for many years as a Pharmacy Technician. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jeannette M. Vazquez; mother, Margarita Vazquez; children, Christa (Louis) Jensen and Luis Vazquez; grandchildren, Angelika Jensen, Anneliese Jensen, Aramis Jensen and Ahleena Jensen; brothers and sisters, Roman Vazquez, Ricardo Vazquez, Felix (Misty) Vazquez, Maria (James) Varnadore, Julia (Edmund) Martinez Bieschke and Eva (Kevin) Urbanik; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation is Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 10am-11am at Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services are Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11am at the funeral home with Pete's son-in-law, Louis Jensen, officiating. Inurnment will take place at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee.
