Monday, March 13, 2017Tami (Tom) Rudkin, Lane (Laura) Smothers, and Deidre (Paul) Franklin; seven grandchildren; and her brothers, Dean (Susan) and Clifford Carrell.Marilyn married Harry Smothers on October 29, 1960, in Worland, Wyoming. They celebrated 56 years of marriage this past October.Marilyn attended Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon. Marilyn worked for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in Wyoming and South Dakota. In 1968, she and Harry moved their family to Casper in response to a vision to help a small, struggling church. Through hard work and sacrificial giving, this little group of believers would become Highland Park Community Church.Marilyn began her professional career in Casper as an office manager for the anesthesiologists located here. Eventually, she began her own company, Casper Billing Service, which she operated for 30 years.
