Monday, February 20, 2017Earnie Miles, a local television pioneer who became the face of gospel music in northeastern Louisiana, died Wednesday. He was 89.Miles' contributions created a lengthy list of achievements while breaking down barriers. He was a salesman, an educator in a segregated school system with second-hand books, a photographer and documentarian for Grambling State University. He would go on to become the first African-American news reporter and TV host for KNOE-TV for more than 35 years until retiring after a stroke left him unable to speak."We a...
